Let’s protect what you and I care about.

My name is John Horvath, and I am running for the 85th District House Seat.  I have been a lifelong resident of Shiawassee County, and I am currently serving in my second term as a County Commissioner for District II.

I am running for the State House because it is time for a change in leadership.  This seat has been held by Republicans for the last 18 years.  And while I have worked well with both Democrats and Republicans on the County Board of Commissioners, the current state legislature does not allow for any bipartisan cooperation or compromise.  If the Republican Party continues to hold the majority in the State House, I fear there will be even more instances like the water crisis in Flint and the deplorable conditions in Detroit’s public schools.

I am passionate about accountability and transparency in all levels of government.  If I am fortunate enough to be elected, I am eager to do my best to improve Michigan for all of us.
